Altered Bottles Galore

 OK so I couldn't help myself, I created a few more altered bottles. I love to up-cycle & recycle...from cereal boxes to bottles. I've used Premo clay & Swellegant to create these fun & somewhat whimsical pieces. So here are a few of the ones I've been working on...

I always have so much fun altering recycled items...I kinda feel like I'm doing my part saving the planet!

From the Depths! Altered Bottles with Polymer Clay

I've been saving this flask for a while now, I wanted to alter it to use but now that I see it finished I don't know that I would even want to. It turned out amazing! I started with some Premo in Silver...

Base of Silver Premo

Added some Swellegant

Then I added some sand

I added a medallion & some chain with charms

I'm really enjoying Christi Friezen's Swellegant line & the effects I can achieve with it on Polymer Clay. This one was so much fun I think I'll do another one...lol...I love to alter bottles!

A few Custom Orders

I've been quietly working away in my studio over the last few weeks. Busy as a bee, working on some custom orders. Yes, I do take custom orders...but only for my style of work. Although I'm not sure what that is...lol...but ya' know! I've been doing more work with Sculpey's Souffle' clay...it's quite a bit lighter, especially when working with layers of Swellegant & other embellishments like stones. I've also started adding some resin work to my pieces...I love the clarity & sparkle it adds.

Metal Fever with Polymer Clay!

Oh believe me when I say..."there will be more"...lol! Well enough for today, I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day Weekend. Ours was a complete wash-out. It's rained, stormed & flooded all weekend with a few tornadoes & lots of damage and grief for a lot of folks here in Texas...but we're lucky to be safe & sound so far.

Fun with Swellegant!

I know I'm a little slow on the uptake but I just recently discovered Christi Friezen's line of Swellegant products were designed with clay in mind...what? Who Knew? Well I didn't...so I got ahold of the Bestest Dealio of All...you guessed it, the whole shebang! After watching Christi's video on the tips & tricks of using Swellegant I was ready to go for it...& go for I did!...

My first piece & I'm in love! It touches a place deep inside me, that place where I hold my childhood dreams of being an archeologist...digging in the dirt to find precious little trinkets like this! Isn't he so cute! Created with Sculpey Souffle clay in Pumpkin, Brass metal coating, Darkening patina & a touch of the Green Gold Patina...LOVE IT!
 Ok so enough experimenting, I was ready to jump in with both feet...so I did!

Looks like I've spent the last month on a dig, right? Oh I'm so in my element right now...like fish in water...lol. I've been having a blast with Swellegant, such a great product! After working with it for a while I can already tell it's going to be hard to go back to clay with out using Swellegant! Oh I know it can be done...but...why...lol!
