I started with a Nut Can covered with Brown Craft Paper that I created a cardboard lid for with a molded Resin knob. 

 

Then I added a bit of the Graphite Paste from Finnabair through a TCW Stencil.

I then went for a few resin pieces and a few Pearls from Frank Garcia Memory Hardware.

I painted the whole with Black Gesso followed by The Metallic line of Acrylic Paint also from Prima.

"Angelic Peace" Amazing Casing Resin

After a long absence I'm back, back to Artistic impressions, back to life!
This time I've got something meaningful to myself as well as others, the action of Prayer as well as the thought that we are watched over by Angels. So what better for this Easter than a Pure White Angel.

 First off all I started with some Super Sculpey and created a Venus type of statue, baked and then sealed with a gloss sealer.

 Then I proceeded to make a mold using Amazing Mold Putty. After cutting the mold open to remove the original I strapped it back together with a couple of rubber bands.

I used Amazing Casting Resin to pour into the mold and after on 20 minutes or so removed the rubber bands and de-molded it. Then I found some flourishes from my stash that made perfect wings and presto!

In the still of the night the Angel of Angelic Peace still watches over you.

Summer is finally here!

Shipwreck Altered Bottle

Walking on the beach, smelling the salty see air that's what I dream about.

Well, that's what I thought too...lol. That was then this is now. 

Anyway...it's getting cooler, Halloween is now over and now it's time to get back to it.

Just a few photos of the process, sorry I didn't film it.

Happy Halloween Altered Cardboard Coffin

After a couple of health scares and some time off I'm finally back! So I needed a little Halloween fun...lol...an Altered Cardboard Coffin from the Dollar Store, some IOD Molds, Prima Waxes and Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays.

The first thing before I forget...Lightly sand the glossy surface of the coffin. It's so glossy even the gesso has trouble holding on if you don't give it a light sand. I started with some scraps of mail from the trash that I DecouPaged(I use the Matte) down. Only on the back to try and minimize the amount on the surface. The with a Tim Holtz Brick Stencil and some TCW Molding Paste I added some texture here and there.

Couple of coats of black grsso...oh and I used the Spider Web Stencil around the base of the Coffin.

I then came up with something I liked using the Resin pieces I cast from the IOD Molds and glued them down using #D Matte Gel. Then I when around the edges of the resin with Graphite Paste also by Prima.

and then...more gesso...

To finish...a couple squirts of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays in Witch's Potion Purple and Screamin' Banshee Black. Then just touch the edges with some of the Prima Finnabair Waxes in the Old Silver, Amethyst Magic and Mystic Turquoise. It's finished!
A Gothic Style Altered Cardboard Coffin to decorate your table and store candy or other goodies in.

A Fun Fall Rhinestone Lizard Pin/Brooch

Hi everyone, Lyn here again with a fun Lizard Fall brooch/pin project for you. I originally created this pin years ago(back when Southwest design was all the rage...so the 80s...lol) and last time I wore it the back leg broke. Now it's only made of Shrink Plastic so it's not very thick, it's kinda curved, very textured & I needed to make a mold from it. So out comes the Amazing Mold Putty, it's perfect for getting the detail & I can add some depth to the pin at the same time.

After mixing up the 2part Amazing Mold Putty I pressed it out on my glass desktop to a pretty thin layer(1/4"or so) then I "rocked" the pin back a forth so that the whole pin made contact with the putty. I did it this way because I wanted the mold to be level and flat. Then let it cure(it only takes 10-20minutes)

Now for the resin! Here I used Amazing Casting Resin with a drop of Alumilite Dye in Brown so the final colors would really pop. I always have molds on stand-by to fill with "left-over" resin when I mix more than needed. Then left it set to cure(again 10-20minutes depending on the weather).

It worked! The finished Amazing Casting Resin Lizard is still thin but thick enough to be rigid. So it shouldn't snap like the original did.

I glued a pin back to the back with a bit of E-600 and  let that cure at least 30minutes but I let it set an hour just to be sure.

 Now comes the Fun part...using some Metallic Acrylic Paints I "dry-brushed" the pieces starting with Gold, then Bronze & then Copper. It dries really quick so just a few minutes and your ready for the next step...Rhinestones! Yep, Rhinestones...I had some of them in several sizes & colors! So I chose some Clear Aurora Boreallis & they reflect the colors perfectly. A bit of Black Acrylic Paint for the eyes & it's done!

This would make a great gift for the Holidays! So glad I didn't throw that little pin away when it broke...lol.
