"Angelic Peace" Amazing Casing Resin

After a long absence I'm back, back to Artistic impressions, back to life!
This time I've got something meaningful to myself as well as others, the action of Prayer as well as the thought that we are watched over by Angels. So what better for this Easter than a Pure White Angel.
First off all I started with some Super Sculpey and created a Venus type of statue, baked and then sealed with a gloss sealer.

Then I proceeded to make a mold using Amazing Mold Putty. After cutting the mold open to remove the original I strapped it back together with a couple of rubber bands.

I used Amazing Casting Resin to pour into the mold and after on 20 minutes or so removed the rubber bands and de-molded it. Then I found some flourishes from my stash that made perfect wings and presto!

In the still of the night the Angel of Angelic Peace still watches over you.

What will you decide to make this Easter?

Well that's all for this time. Till Next Time...

Happy Halloween Altered Cardboard Coffin

After a couple of health scares and some time off I'm finally back! So I needed a little Halloween fun...lol...an Altered Cardboard Coffin from the Dollar Store, some IOD Molds, Prima Waxes and Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays.

The first thing before I forget...Lightly sand the glossy surface of the coffin. It's so glossy even the gesso has trouble holding on if you don't give it a light sand. I started with some scraps of mail from the trash that I DecouPaged(I use the Matte) down. Only on the back to try and minimize the amount on the surface. The with a Tim Holtz Brick Stencil and some TCW Molding Paste I added some texture here and there.

Couple of coats of black grsso...oh and I used the Spider Web Stencil around the base of the Coffin.

I then came up with something I liked using the Resin pieces I cast from the IOD Molds and glued them down using #D Matte Gel. Then I when around the edges of the resin with Graphite Paste also by Prima.

and then...more gesso...

To finish...a couple squirts of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays in Witch's Potion Purple and Screamin' Banshee Black. Then just touch the edges with some of the Prima Finnabair Waxes in the Old Silver, Amethyst Magic and Mystic Turquoise. It's finished!
A Gothic Style Altered Cardboard Coffin to decorate your table and store candy or other goodies in.
That's about it for this post...a little more on my health later.

Crown Canvas Twinkling Starlight using Twinkling H2Os

Hello and welcome to the ColourArt Blog, I'm Lyn here with another post today this time working with the fabulous Twinkling H2Os! It had been years since I dabbled in watercolor before discovering the Twinkling H2Os and it has been a blast!
First I started off with this little crown canvas that I had in my stash and added a bit of texture paste through the Segmented Swirls stencil.
Then I added the stars through a handmade stencil that I just cut from chipboard.

I then added a little bit of Graphite Texture Paste and allowed everything to dry thoroughly. Now for the fun part...

Using the Twinkling H2Os and some water to reconstitute them I began with the Ice color and gradually got darker from there...using Moonbeams, Iris Petal and the Twilight, darkening as I went out toward the edge allowing it to then dry.

Then just a touch of highlight with some Metallic Luster and it's finished!

What do you think? These Twinkling H2Os are just gorgeous, they sparkle and shimmer for such a lovely effect! Gorgeous! Well that's it for today!

Blog Hop for Amazing Casting Products & Stencil Girl Products

Hi everyone Lyn Gill here from LynzCraftz. Welcome to the Blog Hop! I have a project to share with you today using AmazingCastingProducts in collaboration with StencilGirlProducts!
I first started with the sculpture, Sculpted with Super Sculpey Polymer Clay & then baked. I then coated her with a gloss sealer to create a better finish on the final mold.
Then I formed the mold using Amazing Mold Putty. I first covered one side of the sculpture & then carefully added more Amazing Mold Putty to the other side. I knew I would need to cut the mold at least part way up to get the piece back out but since I'd planned it I knew it would be fine.
So here's the finished piece...I used Amazing Clear Cast Resin & you can see she's beautifully clear.
She rests on a pedestal made of corrugated cardboard ...unpainted. I'll explain where I was going with this idea in a minute. The base was made my husband & is just 2 pieces of plywood, rabbited together then primed with gesso.
Some texture paste through a brick stencil & some brick red acrylic paint starts off the background.

 Stencils by StencilGirlPoducts
The comes the magic! Using stencils by StencilGirlPoducts I created a graffiti background...gorgeous!
Stencils used:
 Text and Texture Explore Stencil
 Timeless Stencil
 Past Present Future Stencil
 Inside Out Stencil
 Website: www.stencilgirlproducts.com Blog: www.stencilgirltalk.com

I added a cardboard semi-circle & painted it & did some faux rusting drips as well. Then I added 2 more cardboard pillar to the scene & the roof. I love how the cardboard & graffiti show the fleeting nature of today's art as opposed to the timelessness of Ancient art specifically marble statues, which is what the idea behind what this piece portrays.
So here she is "Venus of the Modern World" in daylight...
OH Wait...I forgot to mention...I added light to the pedestal so it would shine up through the resin! Clever right?

 A few close-ups showing her lit-up...

I truly enjoyed this project with AmazingCastingProducts as well as working with the awesome stencils by StencilGirlProducts.
